Site Migration Instructions for Reseller Hosting

Please adhere to the following instructions so that your files may be timely transferred. Moving your website files and changing your DNS settings will be coordinated with our support team via email.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN THE EVENT THAT YOU ARE IN A RUSH TO HAVE YOUR SITE FILES MOVED DUE TO YOUR OTHER HOSTING COMPANY CANCELLING YOUR ACCOUNT SOON, YOUR FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS IS TO BACKUP YOUR WEB SITE FILES OFF THE OTHER HOSTING COMPANY'S SERVERS. THIS WILL ENSURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR SITE'S FILES IN CASE WE ARE UNABLE TO MOVE YOUR WEBSITE FILES PRIOR TO YOUR OTHER ACCOUNTS CANCELLATION.

Note: Free Migration Service for Reseller is only available for cPanel/WHM hosting accounts. Customers switching from another provider that is not cPanel-based, will have to manually migrate to our service.

Step #1: Preparing cPanel Backup Files for Restoration

cPanel backup files should be created for each hosting account you will be transferring to B2Net. Complete the following steps at your current (previous) reseller hosting provider and for each of your cPanel accounts do the following:

Confirm the following are as follows:

You will get confirmation upon the completetion of each account backup. This will ensure it's finished and uploaded to the server.

Confirm you've given your main cPanel account enough bandwidth and diskspace to prevent transfers failing due to exceeded quotas.

Step #2: Notify B2Net's Site Migration Team for website restoration

After the backups have been prepared and transferred to our servers, you should notify our site migration team to restore your accounts on our servers. Here's how:

1. Email support@b2netsolutions with the subject of the email "Website Migration Request (Reseller)". Once we receive the request, you will be assigned a ticket identification number for tracking requests.

2. If you're transferring a cPanel account from the old host that has the same domain as your main domain name with us (the domain you setup your account with), please let us know so we can apply the proper permissions required for that account and assign the end-user accounts to the main domain name.

Step #3: Confirmation of Hosting Account Restoration

You will receive a confirmation e-mail from our site migration team letting you know that the restoration of the accounts has been completed. The ticket will then be closed as the process has been completed. You will be free to switch to our anonymous nameservers or to your private nameservers after you've set them up.

Things to be aware of after the migration:

Private Nameservers - If you've set up the private nameservers before the migration and have restored your main account from an old backup, we will more than likely have to setup the private nameservers again. It is recommended that you setup the private nameservers AFTER the migration is complete.
